Brit

Just as if everybody else was under water. The only sound is the blunted smaking of the punches. The dull thumps as the bodies hit the mat. The panting, as you breathlessly gasp for air. The impact of kicking. You do not feel pain. You only feel, when your blows smash into your opponent. Your brain is working much faster than it usually does. Or much slower.

Like a predator that has been enclosed in a cage. Which is ready to tear up its next victim. Like a brutal beast you fight, do not second guess or belittle yourself. You only want to destroy. To overcome the next obstackle. You can see everything. You can hear everything. It is an unspeakable, indescribable feeling. You are outside of time but still inside this moment. Your experience nothing less thank perfection. You want this feeling to last forever. You feel alive here, you are finally truely alive. You feel you are becoming bigger and better. However, your enemy is also getting bigger. And better. Your muscles are prepared for the fight, they feel as if they are about to explode. The battle fuddles you, like the smell of blood effects beasts. You would howl if you could. Or would fills you and the rage of your ancestors flows through your veins. You would howl if you oculd. You would fight the whole world.

All your work, every hour, every second has brought you here, is here in your fight, in your movements. Each previous battle has taught you something, those scars serve as reminders of what not to do this time. Every enemy until now is here with you. This fight seems to take over the whole world. You experience a perfect silence around you. Then you execute a combination that breaks through your enemy’s defenses just like a knife through butter. You can feel your enemy loosing strength and your strikes rain down like lightening. You jump on him and fight until you are pulled off from him by the referee.

The sound of the audience is just like hurricane. The world catches you up. You bow to him. Your hand is lifted up. You congratulate your enemy as a champion should. Minutes go by, then hours, the hours of triumph. Then you are back in the gym, again. Just like at the first time. You start to train. Again. You make improvements. You develop new techniques. You become better and better. You start earlier and stop later than anyone else. You don’t rest when everybody else does. You don’t stop. Your wounds are the wounds of beasts, they make you strong. The calluses on your face show the way you have gone through. You don’t talk about it, you just do it.
